• Off to Ohio!
  • Daryl’s Masterclass @ One Theatre World, USA

Posted on: May 1st, 2013 by Daryl Beeton

Back in September 2012 I attended a gathering of ‘Thought Leaders’ to discuss and debate inclusive theatre. After that event I was invited by TYA USA to attend and run a master class at the One Theatre World festival in Cleveland Ohio!

Theatre for Young Audiences/USA’s One Theatre World (OTW) is the most significant festival gathering of professional TYA producers in the United States.

OTW 2013 will offer performances, keynotes, master classes, sessions, special events, and networking opportunities for practitioners in the Theatre for Young Audiences field across the United States and abroad.  Hosted May 8-10, 2013 by Cleveland’s PlayhouseSquare, OTW will offer performances from around the globe. It will also be presented in conjunction with Playhouse Square’s acclaimed International Children’s Festival.

My master class is ‘Creative Interaction – An Inclusive Approach’ where I will unpack Kazzum’s approach to the ‘shared creative experience’ of interactive theatre. I will explore how the combination of disabled artists and young audiences can allow young people to view and understand disability and difference in new ways.

I’m very excited and shall tweet and facebook whilst away and update you all when I’m back!
