    Kazzum HQ holds a small but dedicated team that does a brilliant job of dreaming up the shows, developing them, delivering workshops, fundraising and managing everything.


    But when the time comes, we welcome in the extra performers, freelance theatre artists, workshop tutors and volunteers to help put each project or show on the road.

    Casting call

    Production – The Boy, The Bees and The Blizzard

    Performed at Shoreditch Town Hall


    The boy, the bees and the blizzard explores a border between two worlds, where audiences will participate in problem solving through their personal migration and displacement.


    An active quest using headphones through The Ditch of Shoreditch Town Hall we prepare for a party honouring a new, mean spirited and mysterious leader this mission needs everyone to help. If you don’t come up with the goods we will all be in trouble!


    This hour-long adventure will engage children aged 6 + and their families through a mysterious, light, and playful mission that they will never forget.


    R&D: Wed. 7 June – Thu. 8 June 17

    Rehearsals: Mon. 30 October – Tue. 7 November 17

    Performance dates: Wed. 8 – Sat. 18 November 2017


    You must be available for all dates.


    Kazzum requires:
    All London based performers will ideally have experience in interactive theatre for young audiences.


    Performers need to feel confident to be in character and manage a young audience group at the same time.


    Character (s)


    Performer 1
    {HQ – Male – Playing age 30-50
    Highly knowledgeable, about science, technology and engineering, he operates sophisticated security protocols and is business savvy. However, he is also somewhat short-sighted. He is the lead narrator to the audience and has unexpected emotional depth.


    {The Boy/ The Leader – Male – Playing age 7/8
    A naturally curious and sensitive young boy who is working out how to handle setbacks and self-regulation. He drives others crazy whilst making their heart sing, often at the same time. Playful, bold and defiant.


    Performer 2
    {Cook – Female – Playing Age 21-30
    The Cook is a kind natured, forgetful and somewhat emotional Cinderella type character. She wears her heart on her sleeve and is expressive in her thoughts and feelings.


    {Gardener/Beekeeper – Male or Female – Playing age 18-38
    A forthcoming, action led woman who takes no prisoners. Direct, charming and with an ability to build a strong and positive relationship with the audience.


    Performer 3
    {Secretary – Female – Playing age 30-60
    A warm-hearted woman with professional excellence and pride. Reminiscent of a time gone by and with a real sense of fun. Meeting her feels like that of an old friend.


    {DJ/ Music Hall MD – Female – Playing age 50-70
    A dance floor master with the moves to match! She is happiest when others are dancing and unhappiest when they are not. A charismatic, joy filled woman.


    Any Supporting rolls will be taken on by young people undergoing professional development with Kazzum.

    Volunteer Fundraiser

    Kazzum is an arts organisation for young audiences. We create innovative, outdoor and site-specific theatre, as well as installations, and a wide range of training and development opportunities for young people and emerging artists.


    We are looking for a Volunteer Fundraiser to support Kazzum’s fundraising activities. Creative ideas, energy and a friendly approach are essential for this role, as is a genuine interest in making art accessible to young people, especially those with limited opportunities to take part in creative activities.


    Description of tasks:

    Identify ways of raising additional funds by internet research and talking with companies

    Develop databases for corporate companies, local companies and individual givers

    Prepare fundraising materials to be distributed

    To assist the company in organising fundraising events and campaigns

    We are looking for volunteer(s) who are able to commit to 2 hours on a regular weekly/fortnightly basis. Work can be undertaken flexibly.


    If you have occasional spare time and would like to do your bit for charity, this is the perfect role for you. Meet new people, listen to people’s stories and experiences and spread the word of what a fantastic job Kazzum are doing!


    You will be given induction training into the various aspects of the work and receive ongoing support from the Artistic Director.
