Want to work for Kazzum?
Kazzum HQ holds a small but dedicated team that does a brilliant job of dreaming up the shows, developing them, delivering workshops, fundraising and managing everything.
But when the time comes, we welcome in the extra performers, freelance theatre artists, workshop tutors and volunteers to help put each project or show on the road.
Keep checking here for vacancies, or sign up to the Arts Council England’s Arts Jobs site and bulletin where we also advertise our vacancies.
We currently do not have any EVS placements available. Our sending organisation for EVS placements is Jugend Info in Austria.
Call out for Digital Artist
In our ongoing exploration of the digital landscape Kazzum are collaborating with young asylum seekers and refugees to create a public art installation of interactive sculptures functioning as beacons of the individuality, uniqueness and potential of young refugees in London today.
Through creative workshops young people from 4 groups will explore the subject of identity through art making and creative writing to design unique sculptures. The 4 sculptures (standing 4ft – 5ft high) will each resemble a series of stacked building blocks made of Perspex which will be lit, able to turn and reveal new possibilities and multiplicities of identity as imagined by the participants.
Each sculpture will be made of 3 stacked cubes (12 square sides per sculpture) – one cube representing the heads, one representing the middle bodies and arms, and one representing the feet and land they are standing on.
The young people will create different faces, features, clothes, bodies and written work and we are looking for a Digital Artist to fuse all of this and produce high quality images from the supplied drawings and collages to single images for each square. Employing high-end Photoshop techniques such as cutting-out, fine masking, compositing, colour-management and special effects, in various formats, for use in print. Final images will either be transferred directly onto the Perspex cubes, printed on vinyl stickers or acetate and must be provided in the correct file and size format.
The ideal candidate will see this as an opportunity to expand their own practice as well as an opportunity to develop their existing skills.
To be successful, you will be respectful, innovative, collaborative, inclusive in practice and enjoy working alongside young people.
Ideally you would be available on the below dates to meet with groups.
Monday 27th March (6.30pm – 8.00pm, Forest Gate)
Thursday 30th March (4.30pm – 6.00pm, Croydon)
