From 20-29 May 2011 in Copenhagen and Malmoe, Theatre for young Audience professionals from all over the world congregate to celebrate this event. The ASSITEJ PERFORMING ARTS FESTIVAL FOR YOUNG AUDIENCES will be a significant event for the entire Öresund Region. A cornucopia of international performances will be presented to children and young people in Copenhagen and Malmoe, to their parents and grandparents and to everyone, who already has - or now will find - an interest in exciting, innovative theatrical expressions and new international visions and outlooks.

Black Hole Theatre, Melbourne & Export Market Research in Australia

Kazzum’s Artistic Director, Daryl Beeton, worked with Black Hole, Melbourene, Australia in November 2009. It was an exciting journey in itself but Daryl also got to meet and talk with a breadth of arts people across three states for a research trip giving Kazzum the opportunity to explore the potential for exporting our work to Australia, gaining an overview of the Australian market and how it operates.

The research highlighted the similarities between the Australian and UK children’s theatre sectors in terms of attitude, understanding and positioning within the wider arts sector.

Daryl states: “My time in Australia was a valuable experience.  Whilst working with Black Hole Theatre I worked with an amazing team of collaborators on a site specific production.

There is a summary report Daryl wrote for Theatre for Young Audiences UK which you can read on the TYA UK website.  Click here to go direct to the report.

As usual Daryl also a kept a Blog for our website.

Outdoor Interactive Children's Zones

Kazzum’s Children’s Zones aims to create an engaging, interactive and stimulating environment suitable for the passing flow of people throughout the day.  We provide performance and/or drop in workshops which will allowing people to participate and experience at their own pace.

Kazzum’s programme includes a variety of festive and accessible arts experiences, which allow each young person who visits the zone, the opportunity to experience unusual and sensory activities within a space of time that is suitable for them and their families.

In 2007 Kazzum created an interactive garden party in Trafalgar Square where under 8’s and their families were invited into an enchanting multi-sensory environment.

In 2008 under 8s were invited to help build London from paper.  Aspiring designers were able to create landmarks, buses, taxi's and people to build up a 3D versions of our great city .
