    Daryl is leaving

     Goodbye Drayl

After a successful 9 years as Artistic Director of Kazzum Daryl Beeton will be leaving Kazzum in June 2015. It will of course be a sad time as we say goodbye to Daryl but he leaves Kazzum a strong and and resilient company for a new Artistic Director to take over and develop the company into its next 25 years.

Kazzum’s will continue to work hard during this period of transition to ensure upcoming projects are in place, continue to run effectively and are of our usual high artistic standards. It goes without saying that any new longer-term artistic plans will remain faithful to Kazzum’s ethos and principles that the company has become renowned for.

Daryl says “It has been a difficult decision to make but my resignation has no reflection on my feelings or opinion of Kazzum and the work it creates, I will always be an avid advocate of the company and the incredibly valuable work it does. I leave with a heavy heart but also with an excitement for new personal opportunities”

Daryl will be joining Drake Music as their new London Programme Manager where he will shape their arts programme on a regional level whilst allowing himself time to develop his own artistic projects both in the UK and overseas. As you know Drake Music are a good friend and previous partner of Kazzum, so he leaves Kazzum but will continue to champion inclusion for all within the arts.

We will be advertising for a new Artistic Director in the next few weeks and Daryl will return briefly over the summer to see the completion of our summer projects which will be taking place until September.

I hope you will join us in thanking Daryl for his hard work and dedication in making Kazzum an incredibly positive, productive and enjoyable company to be a part of.

Of course our paths will continue to cross with Daryl as he continues to work in the sector, so there will be no escaping from him!

And if you thought his speech at our 25th Birthday party was entertaining…. you won’t want to miss his speech at his leaving party!
