A’Ishah Waheed
A’Ishah is the Community Engagement Producer at Talawa Theatre Company. She is inspired by learning, and creative engagement being at the centre of arts and theatre-making.
With an MSc in International Politics, A’Ishah has a background working in the international charity sector, public policy, and campaigns especially around access to healthcare, social care, employment, and education.
Some of her previous work includes: Sense’s making play inclusive campaign, where A’Ishah led on research with families and play workers to create supportive resources and inform a national campaign advocating for an improvement in early years provisions for disabled children. House of Love Brent Biennial 2022 by Metroland Cultures, where A’Ishah was invited to design a creative workshop series and support community-led artist commissions.
A’Ishah is qualified in British Sign Language Level 2 (Signature), has trained in D/deaf awareness, deafblind manual, and has regularly led on access logistics for various activities. She also recently completed touch tour training by Extant Theatre with the Talawa Team.
A’Ishah is an alumni of London Theatre Consortium 25-26, and an accredited Coach.
