Life Story Work Commission

We were commissioned by Blue Cabin, in partnership with Children and Families Across Borders and Therapeutic Life Story Work International, to create an animation to support their new resources developed for refugee and asylum-seeking children and young people.

Working with animator and illustrator Robin Lane Roberts and musician and composer Joe Fleming we were commissioned to develop an animation and digital illustrations for the resource pack. Our Associate Artist Paul Andrew provided the English voiceover and the whole animation was then translated into Arabic, Dari and Tigrinya, with the expertise of our Associate Artist Fouad Al Kadi and Clear Voice Translation services.

All of the resources were created to help ensure that more refugee, asylum-seeking and unaccompanied children and young people benefit from high quality, trauma-informed life story work.

The resources include:

  • An animation for young people, explaining what life story work is.

  • A toolkit for practitioners, including life story workers and social workers.

  • A guide for interpreters who are involved in supporting the delivery of life story work.

View the final animation below, and find the rest of the resources on the Creative Life Story Work website here.
