Click below to listen to the audio guide that accompanies the Pathways Art Show, which was co-created with young people:
Over the past year, young migrant artists from community groups across London have taken part in arts workshops with Kazzum Arts. The artists, from Brighter Futures, ECPAT, Shpresa, CARAS, The Create Group, and Young Roots explored the keys themes of power, dreams, cities, nature, light and dark, freedom, hope, connection, games, and play. This work has been brought together in an exhibition at Oxford House in Bethnal Green.
The exhibition brings together a variety of artforms including poetry, collage, photography, printmaking, design, and sculpture, showcasing many forms of self-expression. Over the past year, these creative encounters made space for reflection, dialogue, and play. Through their work, different groups explored questions close to their hearts, weaving together imagination and lived experience to give shape to their thoughts, feelings, and ideas.
In creating Pathways Art Show, young people chose their favourite pieces and identified the themes that bring their artworks together. The exhibition celebrates the imagination and strength of young people resettling in the UK, showing how creativity can spark new connections, belonging, and possibilities.
